In the [TODO] series of posts, I will be examining one feature or game system and determining what development/documentation is necessary before it is 'release ready'. This will attempt to be a semi-exhaustive list, and there is a great deal of integration work across systems as well that may not be covered here.
The topic for this post is The Luminari Wilderness.
- Wilderness tracking must be re-implemented.
- Transportation spells must be adapted to the wilderness.
- code for moving characters from and to rooms must be cleaned up and clarified.
- Crafting materials should NEVER load in wilderness rooms (pending massive crafting update).
- Mob tracking in wilderness must be re-implemented.
- Weather patterns in wilderness should be different in different map areas. Currently, weather is worldwide.
- Regions must be defined for areas of interest.
- Semi-random encounters in the wilderness.
- Generated descriptions for room sin the wilderness, with hand built descriptions possible (but NOT mandatory!) in static rooms.
- Linked zones should have the linking areas cleaned up and customized, every linking area should be within a region that is appropriate for that area.
- Broadly linked zones (like a forest within a wilderness forest) should have all appropriate rooms linked and described.
- Mob paths must be modified to work in wilderness (perhaps via a wilderness-path feature that takes coordinates and not room vnums.).
- DOCUMENTATION and Help Files .
